And at the end of the day…he let us know that all of our actions are “HUMAN NATURE”.

I remember years ago when I took my first psychology class my teacher at UDC asked, “How do we know the day we were born?” We all answered,” It states it on our birth certificate”. He responded, “Incorrect, what if the document had a typo error or we read it wrong?” From that day forth, it allowed me to understand that we all are capable of thinking and functioning differently.

In life we are the authors, lectures, historian, and composer. Often seeking answers that may not go answered for 100 years +.

However, Michael Jackson was one of those people, who asked quietly and sought out loudly for everyone to embrace him and heal his pain.

Since Thursday afternoon, I replayed every video clipping I could find. I came across a 1973 family gather, where Michael was holding one of his nephews & his father Joe Jackson was narrating the clipping to Soul Train Host, Don Cornelius, saying, “Michael loves children”.

Many will interpret the comment in several analogies; however, the thought that comes across my mind: “Michael had a heart that loved unconditionally and even unconditional love can sometimes get the best of us.”

No one is perfect; the best of the best, fall and the worst of the worst can still rise.

80's Michael Jackson "Thriller" vinyl purse

One of my most relevant childhood memories: One Easter weekend at the age of 6 my mother had only a few dollars to spare. She came through the door with a brown paper lunch bag, inside was a small black purse with the imprint of Michael Jackson’s photo from the"Thriller" album cover. It was filled with my favorite candy, red fireball.

I held that purse dear to my heart. That night I remember my mother sitting in the room crying. As a mother she was crying because she couldn’t afford to buy my Easter Sunday dress. I looked into my mom’s eyes saying,“Mama I will wear any dress in the closet, because I know when I go to church on Sunday, no one will have that Michael Jackson purse.” My mother stopped crying. She proceeded to smile- kissing me on my forehead and embraced me in her arms.

Imagine a vinyl Michael Jackson "Thriller" purse, could help a mom and young daughter share a bond, instituting that no matter the circumstances, there’s always a form of appreciation and love.

Though troubled, he just wanted people to be happy. As people, when we realize an error has been made, the driving force begans to echo...In retrospect, we transmit: TO DELIVER THE MESSAGE...

As far as his children…I’m more concerned on what their lives will become. For the most part he kept them sheltered. He probably felt the limelight ruined his spirit and passion to having a child. Now I and the entire world will always want to know “What will become of the children”.

We will follow them…but let us be kind, prayerful and patient. Death is a rough time for anyone who has lost a loved one. However, the whole world is watching them as they have lost their father.

“Tomorrow is not promised to any of us”…and as a one parent household with a 13 year old son…I strive hard to leave a legacy behind to my son and whatever children he may have in the near future.

Our history…it’s important for all of us to leave our history…and if we all do it, than in our own right, “We are all Legends”.

"IMPRINTS..."
